What is the chance that I can get job with a permanent work permit?

Hi, I'm actually a Chinese born in Malaysia and studying in Canada. I speak fluent English and mandarin Chinese. I'm currently pursuing Bachelor Degree of Actuarial Science.

Why is the Work Visa only valid for 30 days? And I heard that the renewal is like 12 months only. That means I should apply for the visa renewal every year?

That is true work Z is valid for 30 days only, but holders of Z should apply for a residence permit within the 30 days. The residence permit is issued for one year, and it can be extended every year based on working contract. There is no permanent work permit.
