It is round 40km between the two cities.

Every June to August is the summer of them.

I'm afraid there are no direct trains or buses between the airport to the two cities. You can take Guangzhou subway line 3 to Guangzhou East Railway Station to take a train to your destination. Or take a direct plane to Chaoshan Airport and ten transfer to direct intercity bus to eithr of the places.
