About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Work Visa requirements

Hello, My boyfriend has been offered a job in Shanghai and I wish to join him. However I am 23 years old, but although I have two years work experience, it is only 1 year post graduation. My company said they cannot offer me a job as they feel I will be rejected the visa. What are my options? Is there a chance I could get a work Z? Thanks

Hi, for work permit, they require applicant to be with at least a bachelor degree. The company is right. You can try to apply for a tourist L if you want to visit your boyfriend. But note, this L only allows 30 days stay.

Yes I have a bachelors degree and 1 year pre graduation and 1 year post graduation experience. I want to live with him in Shanghai, not just visit!

Do you have a link to show where it says they must be 24? That would be helpful.

Alternatively could I consider working as an intern on an X until I turn 24?

Hi Shark, this is true. There is a minimum age limit to apply for a work permit and Z for working. You must be aged 24 or above and there are no exceptions. But if you apply for student X, it is ok to work as internship.
