About:Hong Kong Visa Application

hongkong visa to attend a conference

I am a student from india. i am visiting hongkong for 5 days. I have been invited for paper presentation in an international conference at hongkong polytechnic university. I have the invitation letter from the conference. Do i need to apply for it or i can get it when in reach at the airport. Also if yes then under which category should i apply?

Personally, I don't think you need to apply for it. People like you can apply for the entry permit for visit and should have applied from Chinese embassy/consulate or HK Immigration Department directly. However, some nationals are exempted from entry permit. Indians belong to those nationals.
