Can a Australia passport holder get a visa on arrival at Guangzhou airport?

I have 17 hours stopover in Guangzhou i need a hotel to stay in.

Hi, you can apply for a stay permit from the airport. Visa is not necessary if your stopover is less than 24 hours.
