About:China Visa Application Procedure and Fee

L and Z Visa Info.

Will I be required to have found confirmed employment in China before I can apply for a Z (work) type one here in Australia? Because I was hoping to find employment once I arrived and got settled there...
How long can you work on a Z type one? What is the duration of stay?

Also, for an L (travel) type - multiple entry - 12 months validy:
What is the duration of stay per entry?
How many entries is "multiple" ?

Thank you, look forward to your response.

Yes, work permit and invitation letter are required for Z application. Z holders are required to apply for a residence permit after entry. The permit has a validity of one year with free entry&exit, and it can be renewed based on the working contract. If you do not have them, you can apply for a L for tourism this time. Multiple means no limit of enties, it generally be issued with 30, 60, 90 days or 180 days as duration of each entry. However, if this is your first time to visit mainland, it is difficult to get a multiple one.

Thank you for this information. Very very helpful.
Well I think it is likely I will travel on an L first and apply for employment once I am there and have settled.
I have been to mainland twice before. My last one issued was an L, double Entry with 90 days duration per stay.
This time I hope I can get Multiple entry with 90 days duration each stay.
Ideally, I will then find work within the first month of arriving and change my L to a Z etc.
Many thanks again.
