About:Transportation of China

Does anyone know if you can buy a train ticket and alight to stop at a place en route?

I am looking at travelling around China and some of the places i would like to visit are between one train stop and another. I am wondering if it is possible to get off at one of the stops along train journeys?

As far as I know, you cannot do that. I think you can choose the bus and trains transportation method to finish your traveling.
Generally speaking, most of the places in China can be reached by bus, so you can take train to reach a city nearby and then find the local buses to reach where you want to to. Then you can go back to the city to take trains for your next destination.
