I have an emergency Australian passport, it doesnt have a chip (e-passport)

Im trying to get back to Australia from Canada, and I've found a flight from Canada, via Shanghai, to Melbourne Australia, will this be acceptable? as Im just going to be transiting through Shanghai, its valid until 7th of June. thankyou
