May holidays to Chongqing

Hi, I plan to travel from Zhangjiajie to Yichang and from there travel upstream (ferry or speed boat)to Fengjie, then disembark at Fengjie and then travel to CQ by land transport. Can you advise what is the shortest possible number days needed and the timing of departure/arrival time of each transport?

At least five to six days are needed for your travel.

From Zhangjiajie to Yichang, you can travel by train or by bus. Two trains are on schedule at 04:09 and 09:22 and around 5h is needed for the journey.

From Yichang to Fengjie, the ferries are scheduled at 08:00, 10:00, 15:30, 17:30, 20:30 and 02:00. Generally, it takes around 10 hours.

From Fengjie to CQ city, buses are frequent from 07:00 to 18:00. You may need to spend around 6h on this journey.

You can take the fast craft from Yichang to Fengjie. Actually not from Yichang port. Your ticket will include a 1-hour bus ride to Maoping where you will transfer to fast craft to Fengjie. Journey on the river is 4 hours.

Buses leave Fengjie regularly for CQ Longtousi Bus Station. Journey is 5.5 hours, fare is 160rmb. On odd dates they even run sleeper buses.
