If you book the tours from travel agency, the fare is certain and will not change according to the time.
If you travel on your own, the expense will be high when the holidays, so it is suggested to book in advance.

Private tour prices will likely be higher during Chinese national holidays, as operators are required to pay their contracted employees more during this time. Hotels will be more expensive too, in addition to higher airfares. This is why so many Chinese are disgruntled with so few national holidays, you pay much more to travel with the crowds.
