About:Chinese Embassy in U.K.

i am british and am marrying a chinese lady in china in july and i wish to live with her how do i get a long stay visa?

Hi, if you hold L now, you can get it extended at her local PSB with your passport, very recent photographs with receipt, marriage certificate and certificate of Temporary Residency, and Temporary Registration Form issued from the local PSB.

If you're still in England then you can come over on a tourist L. Then after your marriage follow what Erica says. I know you can get up to 6 months residency currently - sometimes the length of the L depends on which city you are going to live in.
