About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

chinese visa from Hong Kong

If I am going to Hong Kong for a week, and wish to spend >24hrs in mainland China, can I organise it from Hong Kong, or do I have to do it prior to departure?

Well, someone says HK authorities has stopped issuing visas to the foreigners who don't have resident permit in HK. If this is true, I suggest you apply it in advance. So your trip to mainland won't be affected.
