Will I need a travel permit to Tibet

Hi, I have a chinese passport but permanent resident of the United States (green card). I'm planning on visit to Tibet either overland or flying i'm not sure yet. I wanted to know if I will need a TTP or have to go under the supervision of a tour. I wasn't required a visa to enter china.

Thanks

I am a Chinese and went there alone last Oct. They just checked my ID card. Generally speaking, for overseas Chinese, the permit is needed. Anyway, as for your case, I suggest you consult the embassy of China in US.
