Apply for Chinese "Z" visa from Japan?

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any experience applying for a "Z" type one from Japan? I am a Canadian living in Japan, but can't seem to get a straight answer if I can apply for the visa here, or if I have to do it back in Canada. (My official country of residence). If anyone has experience doing this, I would greatly appreciate any information.

Thank you!

It is wise to contact the embassy to get the answer, I think. Here is the hotline of the consular section of the Chinese embassy in Japan:
03-3403-5633, 03-3403-5232, 03-3403-3419 and 03-3403-0924
