About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

I'm assuming I only need a tourist visa with single entry is this correct?

Ill be going from uk to shanghai for a week then to hohhot, Mongolia.

Yes, single entry is ok for you to visit Shanghai and Hohhot. By the way, Hohhot is in Inner Mongolia.
