About:Marriage Registration in China

How does this work if i am currently planning on marrying my girlfriend in china?

I am trying to marry my girlfriend in china, but everytime i try to do a search i get confused. There is no single proof status paper do I just draft one up? then go to the chinese consulate? I am currently living in canada and i plan to all of this paper this year. any help? thanks

You can do an 'affidavit' of Single Status, signed before a notary public. And get it certified by the Secretary of the State Office of the state where the document is executed. Then, get the document certified by the relevant embassy or consulate where you reside.
