Converting L to F visa

Hi. I am living in Beijing on an L, and have been told that I need to go to Hong Kong to convert my L to F. I will be representing my family business in China - what documents will I need from them? Is a faxed copy okay? There isn't time for them to send a letter, as they can take weeks to arrive. Thanks in advance.

Hi, an invitation letter is required if you need to get an F. Sorry I am not clear what do you mean by "representing your family business", if you have any business partner there?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

What I mean is that on the American China embassy website, it mentions (or seems to mention) that the visa will be granted to people who can provide 'an introduction letter from applicant's US company, etc.' What do you make of that? Presumably the same rules apply to British citizens. It's really hard to find solid answers, and even the British embassy and the PSB in Beijing don't seem to know.

I see. That is an letter issued by the company you are employed and the registration license of this company. But if you have an invitation letter from the mainland company and the registration license of this company, it is ok for application too.
