About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

I am American citizen, age 22. I've been offered job in China. Will an F visa work?

I've read that you cannot legally work in China without a Z visa, but I'm being told I'm too young for a Z (age 22). Will I have a problem in China with an F? Also, does the employer in China typically get the F or do I get this before going to China?

May I know how long you will stay in China? that is true that Z visa is issued to applicants age 24 and above. If your stay is less than 6 months, an F visa is ok. You need to apply for it in advance in USA with the invitation letter from your employer.

Forgot to mention, I will be in China for 12 months, but the employer indicated the 6-month VISA (F) could be renewed at six months.

Thank you again for your time.

Hi Julie I am Married to Chinese and living in Shanghai I can help you. Well Z visa is only issued for people that want to work in China normally z is 1 to 2 years period. Well as mentioned you are too young to work here but F you can get . F means business travelling not coming here and remaining to work this is illegal too , But if its for 6 months that's not a problem still I recommend you to call the embassy and get more information's about this and it is funny a Chinese company can employ you even though your age has a problem just be careful just make sure you are obeying the immigration rules in China because once its broken it will be very hard even to enter for a visit . Good luck !!!!!!
