From Beijing to Guangzou to Melbourne Australia

Can you tell me please if travelling on China Southern the following route : Beijing to Canton to Melbourne Australia
Will the airline transfer my luggage for me or do I need to reclaim and check it back in?
I will be travelling the following on the way back:
Sydney to Canton to Amsterdam

There will be a 6 hr and a bit hour wait in Canton
Can you tell me please as to whether there is any pay lounge (and if not any showers) I may use please (so far I found Plaza Premium Lounge Management Ltd but am told this is for corporate clients only which I am not)
