How do you extend a tourist visa?

I wish to go to China to get married, and if possible live there: What visa should I apply for first? Is there any
other type I can apply for at this time other than the tourist 30 day L? What course of action would you recommend in this particular case please: I am retired and sely supporting; Thank you

You should apply for a tourist L visa this time for entry. If you can get married in China and register your marriage within 30 days on the L, you can apply for visa extension before it expires. This is actually the best option.
