A double entry Chinese visa is valid for 6 months from issue date, that is to say you can enter China twice within these 6 months after you get it. For each entry, the duration is written on it, for example, if it is 60 days, it means you can stay full 60 days each entry. You can enter anytime after getting it issued from the embassy, before the date of "validity". A single entry is generally valid for 3 months, with 30 days as duration.
