About:Jinghong Travel

accommodation in Jinghong

I was in Jinghong in 1985 and stayed at an old hotel (for foriegners)overlooking the river, within walking distance to the town centre through a local market, it was very quiet and cheap.I'm intersted in finding out if such a place still exists and how much it would cost per night for 'backpacker style' hotel accommodation. I also went down the river to Laos, burma area but would like to go to Thailand this time,if travel in the area is as unrestricted and costs reasonable, I would like to travel (June-july) Also any Australian that has received or been knocked back for a visa recently could you fill me in on the details.... Thank You..

Yes, you still can find such places to stay there. The fee is around 80 to 100 per night.
As far as I know, travel in that area is strict and you can get visa to Laos in Jinghong but I am not very clear about the fee, because I did not go to Laos before.

Since it is in China, I thought they may mean the Chinese Yuan.
