About:China Business Visa

Can you convert an L to F visa in 2013 without leaving China?

I am an American passport holder with an L and have previously held an F. I have been told I cannot convert the L to an F visa (the L is 30 day max stay and I'd like a 6 month multiple entry F so I can stay in China).
Is it possible and which embassy can do that? I am told that Hong Kong cannot do it and it is not possible to convert in China. Are there other embassies in Asia that can do that? I'm in Beijing.

Hi Lilian, it is possible to convert L to F within China as I know, but I am not sure if multiple ones are available or not. You can try to entrust a local agency for application if necesary. Residence Registration Certificate in Beijing is required.

Yes, if you live in a hotel, the hotel will help to get the residence registration certificate from the police station.
