About:Chinese Embassy in Indonesia

Can visa be obtained from Bali without personal appearance in Jakarta?

I'm an American living in Ubud, Bali with a flight booked to Shanghai on 09 May (3 week visit). Is there any way I can avoid having to travel to Jakarta or Surabaya to apply/obtain the visa? Perhaps via an agent of some kind? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your application should be lodged to CVASC in Surabaya. You can entrust a local travel agency if you do not want to visit in person. Or if you know anyone in Surabaya, you can send your application to him/her, and let him/her handle your application from the CVASC.
