Is tourist visa necessary f we enter china for 2 days only?

Hi.My family & sis-in-law will travel for hongkong on April 10-16,2013 we also like to go to china for sightseeing do we need to secure a tourist visa for china?thanks from Mary Jane Alam, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan
