Visiting my son who is working in China

My son is a UK citizen and is working at a university in Fuling teaching English. I would like to visit him. I will be staying with him at the accommodation provided by the university. Do I need an invitation letter from the university or would an invitation letter from my son be enough?

An invitation letter from your son is ok, make sure ask for copies of his passport, work visa, work permit and residence permit as well for application.
