About:China Visa Application in USA

Multiple visits to American citizens living in Shanghai

My daughter's US citizen family( husband wife, and 8 kids) contemplates taking a 3 yr work assignment with a US firm in Shanghai beginning this fall. Can their US citizen parents (Mom and Dad who are also grandparents to their kids) get a multiple entry visa for 2 years to allow us to vist 2-3x per year? What documents do we need besides valid PP's, app with color 2x2 photo? How do we provide plane reservations cc before each visit? What if we fly to PVG via Hong Cong? Do we need other or different doc's for HKG stop?

Hi, you can apply for dependent Z visa accompanying your daughter's Z work visa. It is possible to get 2 year multiple entries, but the final result depends on consular officers. Documents required are invitation letter from her employer, and proof of relationship if you apply at the same time with your daughter. If you apply later when your daughter entered China, the copies of her Z, work permit and residence permit in China are required.
Plane reservation for each visits are not required in this situation, but it will be better if you can provide any. With US passport, you are not required visa or permit to HK.
