Malaysians are exempted from visa for 90 days in HK. Thus, you just need to apply for a single entry visa for mainland China. You may extend your L visa if necessary.

To obtain 2-month Chinese visa, you need to provide your flight/travel itinerary. The Centre will decide what kind of visa you're eligible. For the first timer, usually double entry visa will be given.
