I heard that the intercity buses from Pingyao can be taken at the expressway intersection. It costs about CNY130. It may be a little hard for you to take. Therefore, I suggest you go to Taiyuan General Bus Station, which is located at No. 88, Yingze Street, Yingze District. There you can take the direct bus to Xian. Bus fare is CNY180-190. Buses for the journey are scheduled at 06:00, 07:00, 08:00, 09:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:30, 13:30, 14:30, 15:30, 21:00, 22:00 and 22:30.
