Arrive in Beijing at 4:25pm on March 27th and then leave the next day for North Korea at 1pm.

Can I get a transit visa? Or do I need a tourist visa. We plan to leave the airport and stay overnight in a hotel

Don't worry! You don't need a visa according to the new regulations of 72h visa-free transit. And you can get out of the airport.
