Hi there,

My friend is travelling from Auckland to Paris on MArch 19th. She has 15 hour layover in Guangzhou. Does she require a visitor's visa if she wants to leave the airport. She travels on a French passport.

Hi, if she wants to leave the airport, she needs to apply for a "Transit Permit", which is valid for 24h stay in the city.

Thanks Nick.
Can she apply at the airport or does she need to go to the embassy of China here in Auckland?

Oh, the permit can be easily applied for and got at Baiyun Airport. She does not need to apply for that at the embassy in advance.
