About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Transit visa in Shanghai Airport

I m traveling to newyork from Osaka in march 2013. I m Pakistan national ,working in kobe,leaving to usa on immigrant visa. Eastern chaina air lines has 17 hours stop over at shanghai Airport.

Do I need visa to move out and see the city? Or can I get the transit visa at the airport?

You do not need a transit visa. But you need to apply for the stay permit when you arrive if you want to leave the Airport.
