About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Chinese letter of invitation problem.

When applying for a visa and you are not staying at your inviter's residence but rather various hotels around china, should I apply for a tourist visa instead?

Also can the letter of invitation be submitted to the office as an email with appropriate attached printouts of the inviter's Chinese ID etc.

Thankyou

What kind of visa do you want to apply, L or F type? As for the invitation letter, I suggest you hand it to the office in person. For the detailed information on the invitation letter, please visit this page:

Thankyou for your reply Kevin,

Sorry, It's an L type visa for a holiday, visiting a friend and exploring. What I meant was, do I get my friend to send me the information of the hotel bookings (probably in his name) to submit to the visa office as well as his letter of invitation. Is the invitation even required in this circumstance?

And what I meant by the letter was that, Would I be able to print off his letter and information he sent me through an email to take to the office, or does it have to be an actual, hard-copy letter sent from China.

Thankyou

You can either prepare an invitation letter or get travel itinerary, round-trip air tickets and hotel booking reservation ready for the application.

Yes, you can print out the invitation letter and bring it to the office. However, the actual one is needed in some circumstances.
