About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Do we need a visa if we are planning to travel to Hong Kong and stop over in Beijing for 72 hours ?

Sorry, South Africa is not included in the 45 countries where their people can enjoy the 72 hours visa free transit in Beijing and Shanghai. Thus, you need to apply for your visa for your stay in Beijing.
