About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

Us citizen . I am planning to go to hongkong transit in Shanghai for 2days.

If I change mind to stay in Shanghai for a few more days. Can I get visa from the local office?

No, Chinese mainland visa can not be got upon arrival, you have to apply for it in advance.
