How do I get a Visa for China?

I have a New Zealand Passport but I am travelling around the world. I am currently in Berlin. On the 4th of March I begin to travel overland to New Zealand via many countires including Austria, Khazakstan, Turkey, Thailand. I want to Visit China on my journey. Where and when can I get a Visa to visit China?

I suggest you apply at the China embassy in New Zealand. There are some additional requirements if you apply for it in other countries. According to what I heard, the applicants who apply at Chinese embassies out of their own country have to offer residence permit authorized by the country where they are going to apply for the visa.
