no hotel reservation, still able to get a visa?

Dear Sir or Madam!I am planning to visit Shanghai for a week. I fulfill all the requirements except the hotel reservation, as I want to stay at a friend's place.Will this be possible?Kind Regards,Christoph Wolf

If you will stay with your friend in Shanghai, you need to provide an invitation letter from your friend and copies of inviter's passport, valid visa and residence permit if foreigner, or copy of ID card if Chinese.
