What happens if i declare USd more than 5000, while exiting china?

I have to collect US dollars 19000(nineteen thousand ) from a business partner in china in cash. I can show you my company invoices that are approved by their company and a letter from Chinese company stating that they have paid me the money. Can i carry the money out of China or what risk will i face of loosing the money at customs
