About:Hunan Travel

I'm planning a visit to Hunan. What should I see in Changsha and Zhangjiajie and between?

I'm looking to take my parents and brother for a week in February. What are the best ways to get to Zhangjiajie from Changsha. Is it worth doing a stopover in YueYang and see the pavilion and Dongting Lake?

Also, how much time would you recommend one to stay in Zhangjiajie, and where would it be most appropriate to hire a driver and a guide? I do not need one that speaks English...

Thanks!

Since you have your parents with you, you had better to take flight to reach Zhangjiajie.
If you take bus from Changsha, the bus journey will take about four hours to reach Zhangjiajie.
Yueyang is between Changsha and Zhangjiajie, so I am afraid that you cannot make a stopover there.
You can stay in Zhangjiajie for about three days. After that I think you can choose to take bus for Fenghuang, which is small town to enjoy the Miao culture. From Fenghuang, you can easily find buses for going back to Changsha.
For tour guide, do you mean you want a Chinese tour guide? If so, you can find many tourism pamphlets in the hotel you live in and on the pamphlets you can find many local tour agency and you can ask them for help.
