At the first place, his philosophy made great contributions for the emperors ruling their countries. So the emperors paid more attention to the philosophy, which became more and more influential. Later the philosophy was highly praised and regarded as the essence to rule a country. Gradually, it was widely used and became a religion that many people believe in.
