What is the best way to flag down a taxi from Beijing Railway station to a hotel?

Are the taxi driver honest in no taking the tourist around extra delay and extra distance?

You can find the taxi stand just in front of the exit of the railway station. You can get a taxi there, but make sure you use an official one with a taxi sign on the roof and with the driver's registration card. Most taxi drivers are honest in the city.
