About:Visa Policy of China

minister of religion visa

My spouse is a minister of religion. If I understand correctly-- If his visa application is submitted to the US consulate on Jan 23, then he has to enter China by Feb 23. He can remain in China until Mar 23. Is this a correct understanding?

Also, would he have any restrictions for traveling to Hong Kong and departing for the USA from there?

No, it is not correct. The processing for application takes 4 working days only. The visa (single entry) is valid for 3 months after issue date. That means your spouse can enter anytime within these 3 months validity. About the duration your spouse can stay in China, it will be issued on the visa, generally 30 days for a single entry.

Thank you for your clear explanation.

Do you know if there would be anything restricting him from going to Hong Kong and departing for the US from there?

If he hold US passport, visa is not required to HK, his passport and the ticket for leaving is enough. So, don't worry.
