Octopus Card Options

My family of 6 will be arriving in HK for 13 days sight seeing. At the airport what sort of octopus card do we buy? We have 2 Adults 2 senoirs over 65years 2 children 8 & 12 years. Seems airport option at 300HK$ is all that is available, Am not sure if we can then load those cards with extra dollars or do we need to purchase standard octupus cards. HELP please

Hi, the card you mentioned is Express Travel Pass, which is an Octopus Card with two Airport Express single journeys plus 3 consecutive days of unlimited travel on MTR (except Airport Express, East Rail Line First Class, Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations). If you get the card, you can certainly have free use in the first three days, but only on MTR. After the three says, you certainly need to reload the card for further use.

My suggestion is that since you have adult, kids and elderly, the standard Octopus Card may have some ticket discount for kids and elderly, because it has three types of cards with different price. For your 13-day trip, the card may be more economical.
