About:International Trains from/to China

How can we best get from Port Xingang into Beijing

and find budget hotel close to station and not too far from Forbidden City etc? We only have 2 days ( off cruise ship ) and want to see as much as we can? Any suggestions re best tours to see sites?

You can take BUS 102 or take a taxi (about 30 rmb) to Tanggu railway station and take a C train (about 59 minutes) to Beijing South Station, where you can take a taxi about 30 rmb to Forbidden City. Nanyuan Inn (Wangfujing), Beijing, Sihe Courtyard Hotel, Beijing & Piao Home Inn (Wangfujing) Beijing are all close to Forbidden City.

Nicholas - thanks for that info - is the rmb the same as the new CNY? When were you there last?
