About:Shanghai Taxi

What should I watch out for when taking a taxi in Shanghai?

How do I spot "genuine" taxis from rip-offs? Thanks!

Usually, taxis in SH are genuine if you just take for several kilometers, so do not worry.
If you want to go a long distance in the city, you can ask them to charge by meters, so that you cannot be cheated.

That's a relief! I only plan on taking the taxi from the airport to Peoples Square, and from our hotel to the convention center. Thanks!

Well, from the airport, it is not suggested to take the taxi, which will be so expensive. You can take local subway line 2 to reach People's Square directly.
From your hotel to the conventional center, you can take a taxi to reach there directly.

Sadly, my flight comes in at 1145PM at Pudong Airport... No more trains :-( and I'm a bit hesitant to take the bus. Or would you recommend taking the bus at that time? Might be staying at a hotel near Peoples Square
