What is the longest amount of months I can get on my L visa for China?

I am Canadian and currently visiting China and staying with my fianc who is living in China. I need to renew my passport for a new visa. How can I get an L longer than 30 days. I would like to apply for a 6 months one. Is this possible?

It is impossible for you to get an L valid for 6 months actually because you and your fianc have no legal relationship. You can not get long visa as dependent based on his. L can be extended twice in China at most, so 90 days as the longest duration.
