Work Visa and Common-Law Spouse

If I get a work visa and subsequently a residence permit after arrival, what type would my common-law spouse apply for? What would she need to do if she found work after arrival? Would her being a British citizen with permanent residence in Canada (I'm a Canadian citizen) affect any of this?

Thanks for your help.

Your family can apply for dependent Z accompanying your work Z visa. If she find work after arrival, she needs to apply for work permit, then the work Z visa outside of China. It is not a problem for application being a UK citizen with permanent residence in Canada.

Thanks for the response. Just to make sure - we are not married, only common-law. Will she be treated the same as if we were married?

Sorry, I misread your words. The fact is that the marriage certificate is required when apply for dependent Z visa.
