Chinese visa for an Australian citizen with a criminal record.

Hi, I'm a 30 year old Chinese born Australian citizen. In the past, I've travelled back and fore to China without an issues.

I'm currently serving parole after 15 months of imprisonment. My parole ends on the 24th of December 2013. And I intend to go to China as soon as I can. Would I have problems obtaining a Chinese visa?

Although I don't think it will affect the application, but you'd better not mention that when you apply for the visa.

Thanks Aldington for your reply.

I thought it wouldn't be an issue at first. Then I heard that China has tighten up on their visa policies. I knew they did that for the BeiJing Olympic games. I not sure if they've continued with it. How do I find out for sure?

May I know what type if visa you need to China? if for short time visit, this will not be an issue, you can just ignore it when fill up the application form. BTW, you have been issued Chinese visa before, so don't worry too much about that.

At the moment I'll settle for a holiday visa. Ideally I would like a working visa as I'm planning to migrate back to China for work.

It is easy if apply for holiday visa, but I am not sure if they require police clearance certificate if you plan to migrate back to China for work. You'd better find a visa agency for help.

Yeah.. I might keep it simple and go for a holiday visa. I've contacted a couple immigration agencies. They can't give me a straight answer as well. All they say is that they can try but it will cost you lol... Classic!
