About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit
I will be in Shanghai less than 72 hours but I am taking a cruise ship out of SH, is that okay

I'm afraid not. You can just stay in Shanghai. If you wanna take cruise out of the city, a visa is needed.0

I am sorry, I didn't explain correctly, we are not coming back to SH. We are flying in for 72 hours, then we take a major cruise line to South Korea, Japan and end up in Alaska. We will only be there in 72 hours.0
