Canadians Travelling around the World, How/Where to Apply for a Chinese Visa?

Hello,

My wife and I are travelling around the world for our honeymoon (going east until we return to Canada from the west). We are Canadians, with our permanent residence in Toronto. We are currently in Tanzania. We had planned to travel next month to India then through South-East Asia (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam) before going to China. Is it possible for us to apply for a Chinese Tourist Visa through a Chinese consulate in one of the above countries? Thanks!

I'm afraid you have to apply for the China visa in Hk.

That should be okay. Do you know details of who we would contact once in HK, how do go about doing this, etc.? Also do you know about how long it might take to process? Thanks again!

The visa office in Hk is located at 7th Floor, Lower Block, China Resources Building,
No.26, Harbor Road, Wanchai. You can call them by tel: 852-34132424 (available at 10:00-11:00, 15:00-16:00 on workdays).

It usually takes 4 working days to apply for a visa there. If you are under tight schedule, you may use the express service by paying some extra fee.
